PERSONALITY:

( - ) Distant/Aloof: Inkkit is a bit different from his siblings. He prefers his other mother, Cricketleap, though he loves both parents. Some of his siblings, on the other hand, don't even necessarily count Cricket as part of the family. He understands that Phantomscream and Cricketleap love eachother, and counts them both as his parents. Additionally, he just stays away from his siblings, preferring to be alone, though he will sometimes play with them.

( = ) Quiet: Similar to Distant/Aloof. It's rare for him to join in a conversation without seriously thinking it through first, and he's not one to jump around being loud, either. It's not that he dislikes commotion, he just won't be part of it. It's rare for him to voice his opinion, but that's generally more of a product of apathy and laziness than it is of shyness.

( = ) Serious: Inkkit can sometimes be worried about things, and this can make it hard for him to have a good time. He can have fun, but occasionally he has difficulty joining in the fun because he's worried, or thinking, or doesn't really feel like it. At times, he might think of others as childish. Additionally, he sometimes misses jokes or takes a joke seriously, especially if it's a joke about him.

( = ) Privately humorous: For all his inability to get other's jokes, he can think of jokes himself, and it can sometimes lead to him chuckling in inappropriate situations. He's good at keeping his mouth shut, though, so generally it's not a problem. It helps him see the world in a better light, though, and can make him less serious at times. As such, it isn't as hard to build relationships than it would be without this trait.

( + ) Mature: Because of his seriousness and quick thinking, he is generally mature, or appears so. He may criticize people inwardly and wait for them to fail, but he outwardly acts very mature and reserved, not to mention polite. As he's only a kit, though, he sometimes gets laughed at or teased for it. 

( + ) Clear-thinking: Always the tactician, Inkkit can generally keep his head in most situations, and is capable of thinking clearly in even the most complicated of situations. Problem is, not many people listen to him, which can lead him to be a little resentful. 

( + ) Protective: His family is a bit scattered and reckless, to say the least. Inkkit considers himself the calmest and most mature, and tries his best to keep an eye on them. Even if he is a bit isolated from his family, they're important to him and he'd fight for them, no matter what.

HISTORY:

Inkkit's parents, at least in his mind, are Phantomscream and Cricketleap, two Shadowclan warriors. Phantomscream approached Cricketleap first, confessing her love, but Cricketleap still had lingering feelings for another cat, and she wasn't able to reply particularly eloquently. Phantomscream fled the ugly scene.

She ran in to a loner called Badger, and eventually conceived kits with him. Phantomscream's belly began to grow, and as both were females, it was quickly revealed that the father was Badger. Things were tense between them for a while. Cricketleap returned her affection, but it was difficult to accept that Phantom had done the deed with another tom. Nonetheless, after a while, the warrior agreed to care for the unborn kits as if they were her own. Soon, Phantomscream gave birth to five kits. 

Inkkit was the smallest of the five from the beginning. He was also the quietest, preferring to stay in the curve of his mother's belly than out playing with the others. Though he was with Phantomscream all of the time, there was another cat who was often present in the nursery. Cricketleap visited Phantom and the kits often, and from the beginning, Inkkit accepted her as a mother. It seemed as natural to him as having two parents of different genders.

Not all of his siblings were so accepting of Cricketleap, though, and they got in to some arguments about it, branding Inkkit as a bit of an outcast. Eventually, he began to grow closer to Cricketleap. They shared many of the same traits, and he found her much easier to confide in. She would listen to all his bad jokes and complaints, and comfort him when he needed it. At the same time, he grew farther from the other kits, who were rambunctious and often excluded him from their games. 
When he finally became an apprentice, he was filled with excitement. Though he had been born small, he was determined to grow large, and was eager to begin training. He swore to himself that he would become the strongest of them all. And so he prayed to Starclan that he would have a good mentor. When the ceremony finally took place, all his prayers were answered. His mentor was Pallidstar, and he was sure that the leader was the best mentor in the clan.

ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE: 

The ferns parted as the pale apprentice slid through the undergrowth. This part of the territory was particularly forested, which made it more difficult to catch prey. However, the squirrel he'd been chasing had seen fit to escape to this grassy area. The grass tickled his nose, laced with the tantalizing scent of a young squirrel.

The grass was sparser up ahead, and the squirrel was on the ground, a pine nut clamped in it's jaws. It was trying to fit the nut in to it's cheek, and evidently having trouble. As it scratched at it, Ashenpaw shifted his legs, preparing to leap. Just as he did, it fit the nut, and looked up to see him moments away. 

Ashenpaw straightened up, the creature clenched in his jaws. It was fat, and would do well feeding the elders. And hopefully his mentor would be proud of him.
